Getting started

From sign-up to a published site

A short walkthrough for professors setting up their own ScholarSite for the first time.

Before you start

Setup takes a few minutes if you have these ready — none are required to begin, but they'll save you switching tabs partway through.

Your ORCID iD (optional, but recommended)

If you have one, Scholar Sync can pull your publication list in automatically instead of you typing each entry by hand. Free to connect on every plan, including Free.

A short bio and a headshot photo

Two or three paragraphs about your research and a professional photo are enough for the Profile & Hero section — you can always expand it later.

A domain name, if you're going Pro

Already own yourname.com? Have the registrar login handy — pointing it at your ScholarSite profile takes a couple of DNS changes under Domain settings.

Six steps to a published site

Sign up and pick a plan

Register at digi-soft.app and choose Free, Pro, or Institution. You'll land back on ScholarSite already signed in, with a new (draft) site created for you.

Check your subdomain

A subdomain is generated automatically from your name. If you'd like a different one — or a custom domain, on Pro and above — set it under Domain settings.

Fill in your profile

Add your title, institution, department, photo, and bio under Profile & Hero.

Add publications, teaching, and awards

Enter these directly, or — on Pro and above — use Scholar Sync to pull in your ORCID record and Google Scholar stats automatically.

Choose what's visible

Toggle sections on or off, and set your SEO title/description, on the Sections & SEO page.

Publish

Flip the "Publish site" switch at the top of Sections & SEO once you're happy with it. Your site goes live immediately — you can unpublish just as easily if you want to keep editing privately.
